Hello Hello, updating mid-week, mid Sox playoff game, hoping the boys can pull it out, and go on to play for a pennant!
I’ve been adding things here and there to the site: I put up a few poems, a short story that I entered into a Reedsy competition (no luck securing the W or the honorable mention, but such is life), and then another short story I wrote last Halloween! I will also post my list of “Spooky Season” movies I watched in 24 and 25 along with their ratings, you will be able to find them in the “Articles” section.
I’ve still been working on editing my two manuscripts, and have yet to begin working on my next one. I may return to writing short stories for a bit, but I’m not sure. I think the idea right now is to edit enough of Gravedigger Foley that I feel comfortable enough to begin the process of querying it to agents.
On the Grams front, we watched a bunch of shows since the last time I updated: we watched season 4 of Reacher (which I really enjoyed, probably my second favorite season of the show), season 1 of Reacher spinoff Neagley (which was also very good as well), and the season 1 of Bones. We are almost done with season 2, but she’s been zonking out lately during episodes, so we will see how it goes. I still enjoy the show – I find the science fascinating!
As far as gaming goes, I’ve been playing The Evil Within, but it hasn’t really captured me yet to the point where I find myself overly-excited to return to it. Maybe I’m just in a movie mood again with Halloween being right around the corner (I’ve already logged 10 movies as of this writing, but I cheated and started early).
I saw The Influencer Project last night. I don’t feel like typing up a full review, as I think I will try to knock one out for you guys tomorrow, but I would be remiss if I didn’t say a few things about the movie. While I didn’t find it particularly scary, it did throw out a few interesting themes to ponder, such as: how we treat influencers, how influencers are manufactured, what influencers choose to put into the world, etc. The movie tried to do too much pontificating while losing sight of it being a scary movie, and tried too hard to be “meta”, but it is worth a viewing when it hits streaming!
Alright friends, that’s all for me for now; keep your eyes peeled late Thursday or early Friday for a review of Other Mommy!
