Staycation

Even thinking of a funny/witty/sarcastic name for this review was almost too much work. Corporate Retreat is an all-time terrible movie–not one that is so good it’s bad even–just a downright unwatchable dumpster fire. In fact, the only thing I even want to comment on the movie about is the performance of actor Alan Ruck (you’ll always be Cameron to me). Ruck (and to a much lesser extent, Zión Moreno, who plays henchwoman Amber) is the only person throughout this entire production that understood the assignment. Just wait until you can see the Arthur highlights (or lowlights, considering they are related to this movie) on youtube, because they will comprise all of the time you need to dedicate to this all-time stinker!
So as to not waste any more of my time on this movie, but to still feel like I gave you something, here is a list of similar themed films that are all vastly better:
- Saw
- Saw 2
- The Belko Experiment (the most similar, and actually a great movie)
- Cabin In The Woods
- Escape Room
- Cube
- Mayhem
- Would You Rather (Jeffrey Combs basically plays the Arthur part in this one, but way better)
If you are really intent on watching Corporate Retreat, do your wallet a favor during this trying times and wait until you can do so for free.
