Well hello again, friends! It’s been a minute, but I am back on the grind!

I spent some time last night typing up a few new poems I wrote. I posted a couple new ones in the poetry section, and shared a few with Grams. They got her seal of approval, so there is that!

Other than that, I started writing a new short story, with the intention of submitting it to this week’s Reedsy contest. The theme is “What Keeps You Up at Night”, and the prompt I chose is “start, or end your story with a strange and/or persistent sound.” I’ve got 2.5 days to submit, so wish me luck!

Aside from the new poems, I will have a new review up for you on Friday. I have Screen-X tickets for tomorrow afternoon to see Resident Evil, so look forward to that.

In Grams news, we are anxiously awaiting the season finale of season 4 of Jack Reacher. I’ve really enjoyed this season–it’s probably my second favorite! After just a handful of “I need to watch more movies”, Grams got tired of that. We watched the first season of Furious, and have now started watching Bones.

Furious was pretty decent. I feel like it was apropos for these times where the strong female archetype has really taken center stage. It’s worth a watch!

In video game news, the boys and I have started playing Halloween: The Game. We have only played a few matches, but I absolutely suck as Michael I feel that it is a much steeper learning curve than Jason in Friday the 13th: The Game. Aside from that, I did finish Alan Wake 2. Man, what a great game that was! Highly recommend it! I’m now revisiting Batman: Arkham Origins. I’m enjoying it a lot more than I did on my original playthrough all those years ago, so that’s fun! They should definitely remaster it; after all, they remastered the other ones.

I’ve also started watching movies for my Spooky Season 2026 list. The first one up was 2018’s Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum. I will post up last years list in the articles/reviews section at some point, as well as post this year’s full list on Devil’s Night, a day which usually consists of a viewing of The Crow!

In fantasy football news, I started the season off 2-2. Not my worst start, but I would have loved to start with a 100% win/loss record. Oh well, can’t win them all!
